      Hi everyone!ย

Great to be here with you all.ย

I work in business development for Notud, a client notes tool where you can handwrite and draw on your tablet. I love my job as I get to help small businesses every day move online from their paper notepad, so they are more organised and their information is instantly backed up and secure.

In my own time I am health and wellness focused and absolutely love learning about how we can actively empower and improve ourselves, and our lives.

I look forward to learning more about you and your products.

      Abbey

P.s. we have a beta version coming out very soon so you can write and save your notes without creating an account. Reach out if you would like first access to the beta version to try out!ย

Glad to have you here Abbey.

I really liked the visuals on Notud's website and screens you shared for Remote Tools. The explainer video is also really neat - is it professionally or someone from your team created this internally?

I like the fact that you're focusing on handwriting when it comes to note-taking, I think that's the most natural way we've been taking notes since childhood. But does the setup come in the way of people using Notud? As in, I am assuming this would work best if you have a tablet and a stylus.

        1. 1

          Hey Abbey,

Welcome :). While I don't have a tablet, I can see how Notud would be very useful for people. Is there a specific target audience that finds it more useful than others though?

Maybe I am just being too greedy, but if there was a way for Notud to back up into Notion (or other similar tools), I think it would be super helpful (in some kind of image to text conversion). Sorry if this sounds very outlandish ๐Ÿ˜„

Love the focus on health - now more than ever, I think everyone is recognising its importance :).

Hello dear fellow-remoteers, we are planning our launch for late fall or early winter. I would be super proud if you follow me on ProductHunt for the exciting moment! Happy to be connected!

Thank you, Hrishikesh for the kind welcome!ย

            1. 2

That's super cool! Just followed you there

              1. 2

yeah, that's so cool - thank you stella!!

                ย

              2. 2

All the best Martin. Followed you on PH!

                1. 2

Hey Karthik, I'm a newby in SaaS-marketing and I'm so happy to obtain your support - very exciting times. Thousand thanks!!

                  1. 2

My pleasure Martin! I really like the landing page of Timz. I wasn't able to entirely grasp how it works though. The video in the first screen is helpful, but I wasn't able to understand if it is to be used as a slack plugin only and how the user flow would be.

I think asynchronous meetings are going to be very useful. I was just telling my colleagues a few days back that my fingers have started to pain with the amount of typing I am doing nowadays just to give very basic context, so Timz does seem very useful. Would be really interesting to see its use case in how it interacts with Slack and how the videos can be accessed later, etc. :)

                    1. 3

That's a very helpful feedback, Karthik, that we are perhaps confusing our audience with the Slack presentation in the beginning. You can use timz standalone or with our Slack-bot, both is possible. I will definitely change the landingpage soon in this point - very valuable feedback, thank you.

By the way it's in open beta, you can simply test it and then your feedback would be super helpful again.

We also have a very powerful AI-concept, that will be implemented soon, so much work ahead of us, but with an audience like you and helpful feedbaks I'm confident we will make the product-market-fit.

                      1. 1

Sounds great Martin - I will be very happy to use Timz and share my thoughts. If something can save me the trouble of typing all the time, it is always welcome ๐Ÿ˜

                        1. 1

yeahhh - cool. let's do a qualitative interview once you have some experience. I know we have many things to solve, but feedback is king!

              3. 4

Thanks for the warm welcome, Hrishikesh! ๐Ÿ˜€ I have been subscribed to the newsletter for a while now but didn't realize I still wasn't officially part of the community.ย

ย Hi Everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm an independent and freelance marketing consultant. I worked in advertising agencies and the usual big FMCG and CPG brands for all of my career so as a freelance marketing consultant, my goal is to help startups, small businesses, and social impact companies that have little to no marketing experience.

I'm hoping to get some inspiration on how to successfully navigate the remote work life here. I want to be able to do this for the longer term and create a real and lasting career.

Looking forward to all the learnings I'll get from this community. โœ๐Ÿง

Great to hear that Shen and welcome again :-)

I am sure you will find some really good advice on almost everything around remote working here including tools - feel free to kick off discussions whenever you want inputs on something specific.ย

I am even more sure that many of our members could use your advice & opinions on marketing & distribution :-)

                  1. 2

                    Welcome Shen ๐Ÿ‘‹

I have also eventually ended up in the marketing function of my startup, so great to have another marketing person in the community! Though, of course, my experience is with tech products - I wouldn't know what to do with FMCG brands at all ๐Ÿ˜….

Look forward to learning a lot from you!

                  2. 4

Great to be here with such a good company!

I'm product marketing manager at Heartpace, and me and my team are working on improving the working experience in companies who suddenly go to work remotely.
We are talking a lot about mental health, engagement and our experience in a new environment.
I'm hoping to get some inspiration here on how people manage to work-life balance and managers navigate remote teams :)ย

Thank you, Hrishikesh for the kind welcome!ย

                    1. 2

Hey Lena, Really glad that you are improving the experience for new remote companies. This is the right place to get inspired as people often share their remote working stories and experiences. And finally, welcome to the community!

                      1. 1

Cheers Lena. Glad to know that mental health & work-life balance are your focus areas. @justin-465 leads the work-life balance topic on Remote Clan and you will find some really engaging discussions going on there.

Just a few minutes back, he's kicked off an interesting (and probably controversial ๐Ÿ˜‰) discussion around expressing negativity being healthy.

                      2. 3

Hi All! Happy to join too. I'm a COO at Draft.io. We develop a visual and highly malleable collaborative document format for Agile Project Management and Product Management. About myself, I'm passionate about cognitive sciences, organizational issues, and anthropology. I also have a strong interest in collaboration and productivity tools so feel free to reach me to talk about that topic.

                        1. 1

Glad to have you here Alexandre ๐Ÿ‘‹

Those are an interesting bunch of topics, do you also blog/ post about this anywhere?

I've been meaning to get into the habit of writing daily and I currently just use Notion for that. Does Draft cover the use-case of personal notes or writing? Also, any suggestions around productivity tools I may use to get into the habit of writing daily (outside of work of course)?

                          1. 2

Yes, I've started writing some articles on Medium: https://medium.com/@alex.beauchet

Draft does not really cover personal notes or writing. Of course, you can use Draft to that end, but it's not one of our best use cases. :)

To prepare long articles, you can use https://gingkoapp.com/. It's a very smart and convenient app for that. Hope it can help!

                            1. 2

                              https://medium.com/@alex.beauchet

Great article about the โ€˜Zoom Fatigueโ€™. I agree that synchronous, as well as async rhythm, is key to a successful collaboration.

                              1. 1

Haha, cool. Gingko looks interesting - I like that it helps you focus on one part of the article at any time. But I guess it is more tailored towards long-form posts. Will give a try and write back about my experience. Thanks for the suggestion :)

Ah, I saw your Medium blog already but I guess that's primarily focused around productivity & collaboration. I was wondering if you also write on topics in your areas of interest i.e. anthropology or cognitive science.ย

                                1. 2

Oh no! I'm just reading some books for now. Maybe I'll write something about it in the future :)

You're totally right about Gingko. It is more for people writing a book or a dissertation.

                                  1. 1

Haha, sure. I am always very keen to read up on new topics, so whenever you end up writing something, do share it here - would love to read :-)

Correct, I will give it a try nonetheless. I've realised that I can surely be more productive in terms of writing work. Also, more than that, it always seems like a huge task when I begin writing, so I thought some daily consistent effort will surely help.

                          2. 3

Hi all ๐Ÿ‘‹ I'm a software engineer currently living in Berlin, Germany. I have been working for remote-friendly companies for a while, even before the pandemic. My long term goal is create my own product (still waiting for the apple to fall onto my head ๐Ÿ˜…), so I joined this group to seek for inspirations from those who tried to do the same, no matter the outcome.

                            1. 2

                              Hey Thanh, welcome again :-)

Did you also work remotely before the pandemic? How many yrs & what was the structure?

Oh you're absolutely at the right place if you're looking to build something & interact with fellow makers. There's a ton of us here making products in the remote working space ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm also thinking we're missing some engineering & product building posts on Remote Clan - maybe you can take up the mantle ๐Ÿ˜‰
