Hey everyone!

After a happy weekend (and a long one for those in the US), I know all of you must be heads down working & hustling your way through the week. Kicking off this thread so that we can share our goals for this week with the community ๐Ÿš€

I would love to know 2 things:

1) What new thing are you working on this week? (could be building a new feature, exploring a new growth channel or even taking a course/picking up a new skill)

2) What do you intend to achieve/finish by the end of week?

  2. 7

    Super question! ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Trying to add new features on Scale - integrate Algolia to improve searchability, implement pagination/infinite scroll, track download numbers! Since it is all on NoCode (Webflow) it is a little tricky to implement such custom stuff - let's see

    2. Apart from this, we are adding new features on the dashboard of Flexiple. So, hope to finish this other than a smattering of other regular things.

It's only Tuesday of the new week but yet it feels as if it's Thursday with all that has been accomplished already. Wow, loving life! Grateful for the clients and new investors we have gained recently. I worked remotely from Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Texas last week and now back in Brazil for a month.ย  Life as one of the Insured Nomads

What are you accomplishing this week? Do share remote warriors!

Cheers from Rio de Janeiro, Andrew

Wow, congrats on all of that. Makes my week suddenly look quite below par :P

          > Andrew

Very cool to see a fellow Rio de Janeiro resident here, Andrew! I'm very interested in taking a closer look at Insured Nomads, I think I missed this!

          1. 2

Super cool Andrew. Good to know you're travelling so much already. How painful or seamless is the travel? I heard you need to take a Covid test before any travel from the US & reach the destination within 72 hrs.

Congrats on the growth - way to go ๐Ÿš€

            1. 4

It was very painless. Very few travelers, most flights were not crowded.ย

We recommend not traveling now due to increasing the exposure to yourself and spread to others yet it was a required meeting so we did make the trip.ย

True, I think we're still away from travel going back to normal. But the vaccine getting cleared in UK is great news & hopefully things might settle down early next year.

We're actually launching the public version 1.0 of CoScreen for macOS this week and are opening sign ups for the private Windows alpha ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽˆ

Please let us know what you think on our launch post on Product Hunt today:

Thanks a lot to Hrishikesh & team for the support over the last few months!

            1. 1

Super stuff! Will be a super busy week for you :)

            2. 5

We are working on a major release this week. It's full of over 100 features which either remove friction ๐Ÿ˜ก or delight ๐Ÿ˜ our users. Lot's small things which on their own don't mean much, but when you add them all together, its a big deal for all our users.ย

              Check it out

              1. 3

Must be nerve-wrecking to prepare for such a big release. How long have you been working on this?

Good luck on the launch ๐Ÿคž

                1. 4

It has been a 2 month project - we basically set out our roadmap for Q4 to be completed before Christmas. And its ahead of schedule which is awesome. Doing final testing now :)

                  1. 2

Wow, that's some serious achievement ๐Ÿ‘Christmas is going to be a very well deserved break for your team then :)

                    1. 2

Haha yes, it will be! My first Christmas break in over 10 years :)

                      1. 2

10 yrs, damn! You absolutely need to take this break now.

                2. 3

Wow, that's great! Which feature are you excited about?

                  1. 3

                    Thanks, happy Friday!

The two favourites for me are:

We now show opened and un-opened interviews so the user doesn't need to click into each one to see if they already watched it. And we have a little counter which totals up all the unopened.

And we have been developing a very low-cost area for job seekers to practise interviewing for jobs (This is more of a side project):

                    1. 2

Really cool! I am particularly excited about the interview practice feature- this would be quite helpful for people landing their first remote role.

                  2. 3

that link doesn't seem to work...

                    1. 3

Thank you - sorted (I think)

                  3. 4

We just opened our product, Xoba, for free, so our focus is on content to educate potential and current users. It's an exciting time, but this is when the work really starts!

                    1) Building content for our product (blogs, documentation, and demo videos)

                    2) We're aiming to have 10 demo videos published, 3 blog posts, and cleaned-up product documentation live

                    1. 2

Great stuff. Looks like a super busy week for you!

                    2. 4

Love to read what everyone is working on!

I don't think I am finishing anything this week, but as for starting, I have started my 49th book translation ๐Ÿ˜ŠIt's a super fun one too, so that makes it very entertaining.

                      1. 2

Amazing Alda. Out of curiousity, how long does it take you to complete an entire book translation? Also do you keep sharing chapters as you're done?

                        1. 1

                          Thanks :)

A 300-400 pages book usually takes me around 3 months and I usually send it all at once, so that gives me the chance to review it (my goal is to review it at least twice even though I know it will go through several other reviews/edits at the publisher).

I've had ones that were more urgent and I shared parts of it as I completed them, but it's very rare, this has probably happened 3 times at the most!

                      2. 4

                        I will go first:

                        1) I will be building a new feature called 'see related posts' on Remote Tools that adds links to relevant posts across all pages. Picking this up to improve the internal linking of all pages (from an SEO perspective)

                        2) I plan to finish it from start to end by Friday. So hoping to have a brand new section at the bottom of every page ๐Ÿ’ช

                        1. 4

Going to launch a new version of our home page

Current draft is here if anyone has feedback!

                          1. 1

Love the new homepage! It looks like an amazing upgrade ๐Ÿ‘

Quick few points - I might be nitpicking but hoping it will help :)

                            - I felt the font in the 1st section could have been slightly larger. It is 17px right now but the one for bullet points under 'Team Transparency via Live View' is 20px which actually looks great even for the 1st section.

                            - The transitions for the tabs ('Pull Requests', 'Feedback Requests' etc.) happen almost instataneously. Maybe you could think of adding a slow transition here?ย

                          2. 4

Working on the following this week:

                            1) Onboarding & implementation at a client

                            2) Outbound marketing campaign

                            3) Content marketing efforts

                            1. 2

Quite an interesting list, Erbil. My efforts at Flexiple are also quite similar - to grow client leads through various marketing channels. Which ones are working the best for you?
