Facebook is giving its employees the green light to continue working remotely once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. The company is offering this flexibility to anyone whose job can be done remotely. In contrast, rivals like Apple and Google are calling employees back to the office. Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, plans to spend about half of 2022 working remotely himself and had previously stated that half of Facebook's workforce could eventually work from home. Facebook's offices are set to fully reopen in October, but those without remote work permission must come in at least half the time. About 90% of remote work requests have been approved so far. However, these remote work policies apply to Facebook employees, not subcontractors. Zuckerberg expressed that remote work has made him happier, more productive, and allowed for more family time. Other tech giants like Amazon, Apple, and Google are also adopting hybrid work models, offering employees flexibility in their work arrangements.
