Remote Work Experience
mostly during recent COVID lock down, however did work remotely 2 days a week for a few years in a previously role
I think these are 3 important parts to being successful as a remote worker
Effective, transparent Communication with others / team - need to find ways to share what you are working on, engage in project plans or communication on various topics / projects Having the right tools to enable your work - this could be software but also set up, or support from company regarding flexibility etc Ability to self manage, continuously learn
My Remote Tools Stack
Zoom calls have been really helpful
Here's how I plan to contribute to The Remote Clan
discussions around culture in distributed workforce - how do you need to evolve culture to support a new way of working other ideas regarding events, norms, etc that have been effective in supporting a global workforce in working effectively together in a non-office based environment.
Here's what I want to gain from The Remote Clan
learn how others have evolved and transition to remote as a new way of working vs replicating an in office environment Effective habits for asynchronous communication Pros / cons of environments that are fully remote vs those that are a hybrid of office and remote teams
These are the 2 best topics to start off a conversation with me
