Remote Work Experience

I was remote for 6 months or so while working at Uber. It didn't go too well, given that the company is far from remote first.

I think these are 3 important parts to being successful as a remote worker

Communication, communication, communication :) And obviously, a lot of the things that you get for free when you're co-located (serendipitous encounters, easy social exchanges with no agenda…) are out when you're remote, so you have to be deliberate in creating them.

Email, Slack, Zoom

Here's how I plan to contribute to The Remote Clan

Would love to contribute my expertise in product management, design, and software engineering to budding entrepreneurs in the field. Generally love meeting folks working on new things, so don't be shy to reach out.

Here's what I want to gain from The Remote Clan

I'd like to learn more about people's experiences with being remote β€” what worked well and what didn't, what are the big gaps in your workflow, what are your biggest pain points?

These are the 2 best topics to start off a conversation with me

The second order effects of the shift to remote, and the most exciting tools coming up in this field.
