Remote Work Experience
In 2000 I took off with my laptop and began in Europe then landed in Brazil, I was running a remote web design, marketing and graphics design agency from where ever I was before there was the niche of 'digital nomad'. As the new nomad has evolved to include domestic and international remote workers I have been the expat, slowmad, location-independent and traditional local domestic remote worker. Currently I work remotely, leading a remote company that is based in the USA while I split my time between the US, Brazil and Europe leading Insured Nomads.
I think these are 3 important parts to being successful as a remote worker
Willingness to drop all and developer deep, personal relationships with those you work virtually with around the world. Care about them as humans not digital worker bees. Go beyond the virtual distance and be human, authentic with each person. 1. Authenticity 2. Vulnerability 3. Listener
Here's how I plan to contribute to The Remote Clan
Helping others get the resources they need, fielding questions and sharing from my experiences. It's my 20th year as a digital nomad/expat/remote worker.
Here's what I want to gain from The Remote Clan
Learn fresh perspectives, tools, meet great people, and view things through the eyes of others.
These are the 2 best topics to start off a conversation with me
