Remote Work Experience
Yes! I've been freelancing for more than a few years now with the same clients, and working from home when I'm working for them. Also, the company I work for is remote friendly, so more often than not I stay at home and work there :)
I think these are 3 important parts to being successful as a remote worker
Discipline. It's something that came very hard to me in the beginning. Actually sitting at the desk, writing, and focusing on work instead of watching TV shows or scrolling through social media endlessly. It's also important to know where to draw the line between life and work. It can be really tempting to check emails at 10 at night, but it doesn't do you any good - I'm still trying to shake this habit off. But having an actual working time really helps a lot.
Here's how I plan to contribute to The Remote Clan
I can share my own experience, tips and tricks. I have been writing a remote work journal for a while now, so I could definitely use what I have there. The company I work for is big on productivity, and I have been a creator and a host of our productivity podcast, so I can share great insights I've heard from global productivity gurus, and founders of some amazing companies.
Here's what I want to gain from The Remote Clan
I hope to learn something new. To be reminded every day that I'm not alone in this, and that all remote workers go through the same ups and downs. Feeling isolated is one of my biggest issues with remote work, so I hope to form friendships and partnerships here.
These are the 2 best topics to start off a conversation with me
Writing - it is my true calling and it's impossible shutting me up once I start talking about it :D TV Shows - I have an app that confirms how many days I've spent watching various TV shows, so bring it on
