Remote Work Experience

The Covid-19 outbreak marked the beginning of my remote work career. Previously we only had weekly chats with our teams in Oslo and UK, but the interaction with the teams have changed significantly. It has been a challenge, I struggled a lot in the beginning to find a good routine and stay productive through out the day. My work-life and private-life blended into one, as I was working from my living room. However, I've now found a good rhythm and are actually prefer to work remotely.

I think these are 3 important parts to being successful as a remote worker

For me, working remotely required quite a shift in my rutines. Working remotely requires discipline and time management, a good work set up and last but not least - laser focus. Being disciplined enough to wake up early, get dressed and follow a scheduled plan is for me boosting my productivity the rest of the day. I try to time box my day with concrete tasks to complete at certain times of the day, and remember to include breaks. Secondly, having a good work set up with a fast internet connection, comfortable chair, a large screen and coffee nearby is key to enjoy remote work. Lastly, staying laser focused through out the day is important. Turn off notifications, block distracting pages and don't procrastinate.

Here's how I plan to contribute to The Remote Clan

With an entrepreneurial background, and constantly shifting my focus between two markets I believe I will be able to bring some interesting views and ideas to this community. I hope to being able to feedback on challenges spanning from like-minded people and bring ideas into action.

Here's what I want to gain from The Remote Clan

I hope to learn from far more experienced remote workers than my self and receive feedback on what I'm currently working on - a productivity and time management tool especially designed for remote workers to remove distractions and peak your productivity.

These are the 2 best topics to start off a conversation with me

I'm very interested in innovation, entrepreneurship and marketing.
